The second instalment, continues the story of Charles de Gaulle between 1940 and 1945, tracing his progression towards a political career and his central role in the liberation of France. From London and then Africa, General de Gaulle imposes his strategic vision and leadership to unify the forces of the Resistance, secure the support of the Allies, and prepare for the Liberation. As head of Free France, the recognition of Free France as a provisional government, followed by the political and human challenges, must be overcome to restore France to its rightful place among the victorious nations.
