France, the world’s fourth-largest producer

France, the leading animation producer in Europe and the fourth largest worldwide, stands out for the richness and diversity of its productions. From animated series for children or adults to feature films, and from independent projects to blockbusters, France establishes its position as a leader in the animation industry.

French animation studios, a history of excellence

Employing more than 10,000 talents, French animation studios, recognized worldwide and located across the country, are able to work efficiently with a spirit of initiative that appeals to the most demanding directors and producers.

With seven schools ranked in the Animation Career Review’s top 50, France is ranked 3rd overall and takes the top spot with “Gobelins, l’École de l’Image,” named the “best international animation school.”
