Amsterdam 1652: The Hands of the City is a collaborative virtual reality experience that transports you to the heart of 17th-century Amsterdam. Equipped with a VR headset, visitors explore the city streets together as they existed nearly 400 years ago, discovering the daily lives of its inhabitants.
Throughout the adventure, you explore the bustling docks of Lake IJ, historic bridges, and Dam Square. You encounter several characters whose destinies intersect during the great Dam Square fire of 1652. Each can follow different perspectives and discover how the inhabitants lived, worked, traded, and built their relationships in a city that was then booming.
Unlike a traditional visit, you don’t just observe history: you experience it from the inside. The experience is designed to be shared, allowing participants to move around simultaneously in the same virtual environment and discover Amsterdam’s Golden Age together.
