Shooting permits are required for all SNCF property (stations, trains, etc.) in Paris and the country.
The Pôle Cinema et Tournage SNCF (SNCF Cinema & Filming Unit) centralizes all requests for filming (excluding the press) for the whole of France :
- Hosting and organising filming without disrupting passenger operations;
- Analysis of the script and study of the technical feasibility (advice on writing railway scenes);
- Advice and guidance on the choice of sets and trains;
- Financial study based on the services required;
- Coordination and organisation between the various SNCF entities (transporters, stations, infrastructure, safety, etc.);
- Implementation of safety procedures (ICP and drafting of the prevention plan);
- Drafting of agreements and filming permits;
- Assistance on D-day and follow-up of services requested.
Procedure
To arrange your SNCF shoot, you’ll need to:
- be a professional in the audiovisual sector
- submit your request at least for weeks before your date, and about three months ahead if your project is complex
- include a synopsis and the script for the sequences you plan to shoot on SNCF locations
- tell us when and where you’d like to shoot, the equipment you’ll use, and the size and composition of your crew
- provide proof of insurance, contact information for the production team, your billing address, and your Siret number. If you don’t have a Siret number, please give us your intra-community VAT number or your national tax ID number
