Paris and Paris Region

Aéroports de Paris manages all airports and aerodromes located within a 50 km radius of Paris.
All authorizations for filming in public and reserved areas must be submitted to the prefecture 5 weeks before the beginning of filming and will be subject to the agreement of the Airport Director (or his representative) and validated by the Prefect in charge of the Paris airports, Paris Charles-de-Gaulle and Le Bourget.

Any authorization (public and/ or reserved area) is subject to the prior acceptance of the scenario, story board or model that you must send.

You will then have to carry out one or more location scouting with the Paris Airport filming manager and representatives of the production company.

You will then have to send a filming request file specifying the dates and places chosen as well as the number of people present.

If the filming is in a reserved area, you must provide copies of the identity documents (passport or national identity card) of all the people filming 15 days before the filming. Authorization for filming is subject to obtaining an authorization from the Prefecture, which may check the criminal records of the people involved (technicians, actors, extras, etc.).

Initially, the request can be made by phone or by email. During a meeting with the person in charge of the shooting, a location scouting is done in order to know all the specificities of the shooting. A complete file must then be sent to him. An answer will be given within a few days of receiving the complete file.

Filming in restricted areas

In the event of shooting in a reserved area, the file sent to the person in charge of filming at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport or at Orly, will be sent to the Sub-Prefecture for validation of access to the area. The file must be completed with an exhaustive list of persons accessing the reserved area, as well as photocopies of identity papers and/or passports, so that passes can be issued.

Other regions than Paris

Initially, the request must reach the Director of Civil Aviation (DGAC), who determines the feasibility of the filming. After an agreement in principle, the file is taken in charge by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in charge of the airport. In order to avoid any delay due to an incomplete file, it is necessary to count on a delay of 1 to 3 months to obtain the authorization.
